Small Steps
I’ve been practicing with my art and designs, sketching thumbnails to see which motifs work best aesthetically and heartstorming themes to ensure all my work genuinely reflects the stories I’d like to tell
Room for Growth
I have a long way to go and although the learning curve for me is steep and at times the number of things I want to get done and improve on is overwhelming, I get enormous joy and satisfaction from creating designs at every stage of the process. This image is an initial sketch for a herbarium design. I’ve been working on ideas for this collection for a while and can’t wait to share more of the process and some of the completed designs with you very soon
Meadow Way
This design, Meadow Way, is one I created for a Spoonflower competition and reflects my love of vintage fabrics and sewing. Texture adds depth and a classic, wheat-sack feel to the pattern which would be ideal for children’s clothes or as wallpaper to add a touch of sunshine to a corner of a home. The colour palette of soft yellows and washed denim blues evokes sunny afternoon picnics and endless days of early summerMeadow Way is available as fabric, bedding, tableware and wallpaper at my Spoonflower shop and at Woven Monkey which is a similar UK based company specialising in textiles
